1969 Z28 Coils Springs
« on: February 01, 2024, 03:07:49 AM »
I want to replace the coil springs in my orange/white stripe Z I recently picked up, because it sits too high. I have installed Moog 6308 in my other orange Z and for me it sits perfect. The rub is they are discontinued. From my research D&R sells pn k00091-z which is designed for a 69 Z28 and looks to match the original specs. Also available from Classic Industries are Elgin pn CS6308 which also closely matches the Moog original specs. My question is has anyone installed either and do you like the height? If you have pics that would be great. Any other spring suggestion would be appreciated!

Thanks...

I just installed the Moog CS638 on mine as an original was broken. They are not exact copies of original and the front sits on the high side of the high AIM measurements. Maybe it will settle?

Springs will settle they say…..actually they won’t. My originals still sit at factory height….and I have checked on the ground to measure several times over the years, most recently after I had to replace the broken left rear leaf.
My brother’s 67 rear still looks he has air shocks on- 25 years later….no settling.

Steve, I’ll keep an eye out, but you may end up having to source a set of used. This might help get you there.

I think Bob Harris (Camaro Specialties) has the correct ones.  A friend of mine bought a set from him for his Z and it sits perfect.
