68 console clock
« on: October 30, 2023, 02:47:52 AM »
Does anyone know which manufacturer made them. I have one I’d like to get working, but can’t find a kit. Any help is appreciated.

As far as ‘68 Camaro - I don’t know.  The in dash clock for my ‘66 Chevelle was made by Westclox.  My fix (back in the mid 90’s) was to send out the clock and replace the old, broken, mechanical movement with a quartz movement.

I sent mine to The Clock Works in Eagle River, WI. They did an excellent job. I did not have it converted to Quartz.

Larry, here’s mine and they’re the same. So does anyone know if there is a kit that is for it?

Indy, I saw that video, and part 2. Shows me how to fix nothing. Video is useless.

The normal issue for clocks is the return spring has relaxed over the years. The solenoid fires but with the weak spring, the contacts are not made as the spring returns.
So I have taken the spring off and retensioned it, aka shortened it.
15+ years later and it's still working in my 69.
