Missing Cowl tag
« on: October 15, 2023, 09:21:32 PM »
I purchased a 67 Camaro yesterday. This car has been through the wringer for sure. It’s an abandoned race car from the 80s. I am planning to return it to nice condition for street use.
It is missing the cowl tag. I have the vin and title but other then knowing it was a 67 Norwood v8 coupe. I don’t know anything else about how it was equipped.
Is there a database of what cars were built with, referenced by the vin?
Thanks

You can post the VIN, and you can pay for a NCRS Shippers report. That will tell you when it built and what dealer it was sent to. Not much after else…is there any drive train components left.

You info doesn't state where you are located - but..
If you are fortunate enough to have a car from Norwood that you suspect may have been shipped into and sold in Canada - all of the information you seek could be available through GM Vintage Vehicle Services in Oshawa Ontario.
(Google it to get the relevant contact info).. if you have the VIN number they can pretty much immediately confirm if the car was ever in Canada and if so they can sell you a package of confirmed sale location, dates, and options as delivered.. you may just get lucky!

That is great news. This is definitely a Canadian car…… it spent all its life in Sarnia Ontario.
I will contact them tomorrow and find out what I have. I suspect it’s a big block rs/ss car.. it has a 396 in it now and ss badges. But everything else has been tampered with

But I don’t think there is enough information to make a completely accurate tag.
