Backup lights

Correct.  Also, your oil pressure gauge line should have it's own hole and rubber grommet.

Jerry, what '69 powertrain combination had that backup lights plug/grommet in the firewall? I know 4-speeds had the backup light switch inside the car, on top of the steering column, with no external wiring.

ron. the hole next to the wiper motor is the hole for the oil pressure line. my 67 rs/ss doesnt have a rubber grommet. the fitting is held in with a nut on the engine side.

I don't know about the 67 AIM, but in the 68 one its page 323 and section M20 anyway.  I got a repro one at Rick's.  I don't know if that's the right one for yours though.

John,

The back-up plug in the firewall is a 67 and 68 thing.  The plug in the firewall mates with a wiring harness that plugs into it, and the other end goes to a bracket and switch mounted on the transmission side cover.  The switch is part of the harness.

Jerry -

Why?  What's your thinking behind this?  Where do you buy replacement ground straps and screws?
