Has anyone heard of this collaboration between Hurst Hatch and GM to put T-Tops in 1967 camaros? Theres a guy on Ebay claiming to have one of these cars. He says its a prototype car.

  If I remember right, Hurst did not start the T-Top craze till 1975.  Oldsmobile had the first tops. I have never heard or seen a first generation Camaro with them. Second generation Camaros have them.

I think some of the export 1st gen Camaros got some type of sun roof?

The "Hurst-Hatch" T-top style roof was first available on the Olds in 1975.
Camaro T-tops started as an option in 1978: "RPO CC1 Roof Panels, removeable glass"

Please post that Ebay site...  It had to have started somewhere, sometime...

Wow, it even has T-T on the trim plate, which decodes to T-Top.   ;D   ;D   ;D

For what it's worth, when the T-top did make the Camaro trim tag in the late 70s, it was CC1.
The most important line in that Ebay ad is "selling... not as a prototype".
I've searched and found nothing.  Wonder if John or Jerry or anybody knows more?

Never heard of any such collaboration back in 1967; I don't recall Hurst doing this kind of thing until the 70's.

  The earilest I know of, is in 1970 Hurst made something like that in a Camaro with some kind of open top, ( sorry I don't know if it was a t-top or a retractable sun roof; one or the other though) that was called a HURST SUNSHINE SPECIAL. IIRC they were all daytona yellow in color and they made somthing like 3 of them and two are still known to exist IIRC.

Yeah that rings a bell - I THINK it was a retractible sunroof. I sort of remember seeing a picture of it somewhere.

I also seem to recall a color picture of a proto 1st gen with woodgrain sides, custom grill and maybe a surfboard rack??? Just can't seem to remember where....

I will have to check my Hurst book , but I believe Hurst had a contract with Demmer Tool & Die Company in Lansing, Michigan to do projects for the big 3. In 68 they did the Hurst olds and also extened some Dodges for taxi cabs. Hurst did the 68 Hemi Dart and Baracuda, some of the 1970 Yenko Dueces, a bunch of AMCs, Grand Prixs, Chrysler 300s, and others. I believe they had another shop in Detroit in addition to the Lansing facility and their PA facility.
