I’m in the process of undoing a lot of the “upgrades” done to this car by the previous owner and took some pictures of the original underside that has never been repainted undercoated or otherwise messed with. Except for the obvious. Don’t really know exactly what to take pictures of, but I thought it was interesting. The doubler where the seatbelts go through is unpainted and uncoated, and there’s very little factory under coating. I am putting the original rear end back in the car, which had been removed because an axle tube cracked at the spring hanger weld.

Well, as it turns out, more pictures was the least of my problems. Went to move the car with a floor jack under it, and hit a zip tie on the floor that stopped the jack rolling. Floor jack into the gas tank. Gas tank destroyed.
So yeah. Now looking for an original replacement.

Before you get rid of the original tank, assuming it'd original to your car, there is a research topic thread on this site, where you can submit your tank code info:

Thanks for the info, I kept the tank and cleaned all four corners and the lip all the way around. No numbers that I could find.
I'll post pics on that thread of the pinch weld and flanges. Thank you.
