From the ad:

1969 Chevy Camaro REAL DEAL SS350 numbers matching rebuilt 350.

Pic of block stamping shows 19L525822  T0219HC

HC is an L65 350/2 barrel w/manual trans

Was not a Camaro SS.

Did someone take a sawz all to the trim tag or is that just a bad picture?

Not an SS 350, but block looks original for that car. Right?

Tag pic looks like a mess.

Yup, original 350 HC block.

Tag looks to have been sandblasted.

In the description he's now claiming it's a faint HG, not HC.  Looks like a clear C to me.   Maybe he'll blur that picture next.

It's clearly an HC and to his credit, he's now stated that it's an L65 and not an SS. He still needs to fix the 12 bolt reference since this car probably came with a 10 bolt. And that's not the factory Hurst shifter.

No, can't be. The distributor is over a foot away from the trim tag when mounted. And from the pictures, it appears the engine is sitting on an engine stand. Unless the distributor's zip tied to something in the engine compartment??? But my 69 Corvette and 57 Chevy both have the tach drive distributor and neither of them have that (what appears to be) "C" clip next to the cable. It's a threaded union (see attached)

If it is, it has to be aftermarket like maybe from JC Whitney, Sears, Western Auto or Monkey Wards. RPO K30 wasn't available in 1969.

Being the transmission is out of the car, I think they took off the speedometer gear housing and left it on the speedometer cable and hung it complete on the wiper motor?

I think you're right! Which means that's not a "C" clip but an O-Ring. Good job!!

He is right, you can see the groove the retainer locks on. Does the winner get a prize?

Yep. A 32 pound bag of sour cream that's been sitting out in the sun for 3 weeks!
