LOL, 169 Indy. It’s just the beginning with your L78, don’t think you’ll go back to the L34! My L78 completely re-done, and just now breaking in. Love to get on our 4-Lane state Hwy and let all the SUV’s pull up on me at about 85 mph and just stomp the pedal and high gear them to about 110 and stick my hand out my window and flag them to get some more! My L78 is 1 pulling hoss with 3.73 gears. Makes me go all the way back to 19 years old, lol, fixing to turn the big 7-0. Just a little testimonial!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good for you!!! No reason to NOT still feel like you're king of the highway!! That's just the natural order of thoughts.

I own both too. My L78 is in a 69 Chevelle with 4.10's. Cruises docile until you hit it and that camshaft, heads, and gearing make for a fun badass ride, pulls very hard and wheel hops bad during a burnout, but that is probably a different story. My oval port car is a 67 Vette 427/390 HP. So probably not a good comparison because of the 427, but I kid around that this is my station wagon engine in my Vette. It idles lazily at 650 rpm's, but has a nice lope. It pulls extremely hard down low and I am not sure how it pulls above five grand. It is the original engine in the car and don't want to run the risk of grenading the engine. I once owned a L35 69 Convertible automatic car. The torque in that car was really nice because it had a 3.07 and was a great driving car.
