« on: April 17, 2023, 02:46:10 PM »
my question is since my car was built within the first 2 weeks of September and with a Vin of 506506 since it has the short fin and some people are saying that there is a difference in stripe distance who is correct?

There are no known anomalies for '69 Norwood striping. The top of the cowl on white stripe cars was sloppy on early builds, transitioning to a much cleaner appearance early in '69. They had to relocate the Camaro badge on the trunk lid for cars built with D80; the pre-punched holes under the spoiler were taped over. Hole punching was changed as of April.

Some early production Van Nuys builds had the '68 rear stripe layout; some non-vinyl top VN cars had the shorter VT rear stripes.

Make certain your painter knows what he is doing. Common to see incorrect rear striping, usually extending onto the lip of the trunk lid on cars built with D80. Rear spoiler was mounted prior to striping; stripes terminate at the bottom of the spoiler.

I have posted before about the rear stripes on my early (Oct build 68) LOS built z28. My build sheet has D80. The back of my trunk lid also is striped. I have the shorter stripes as well. Look for my previous posts which include pictures. As I said back then I don't see any evidence of an accident. I'm the second owner.

Thread with the photos of your trunk/spoiler.
