« on: December 26, 2022, 02:30:00 AM »
Guys what has been found for this stamp? I know of Lloyd's in his build thread. Are there any other examples?
Ty, Doc.

I've never seen a dated pump cover - only wiper motors. Doesn't necessarily mean they don't exist: I have not found a thread in the CRG that mentions it, either. Maybe the ink adhesion doesn't hold up on the plastic long term - although it works pretty good on the painted motor frame. Anyone else have an example ?

This picture is an original one from Lloyd's build thread (24th week 1969). Does anyone know the font for the numbers? Maybe Lloyd will chime in.

Hey Doc,  the cover in the photo is from my '69 that was built on 28-Feb (02D).    Maybe the 24 is a day code, assuming mine is original.

Rob, I don't think it is a day code. The line would have to stamp daily. Lot of work for the amount of motors being produced. Too much of a hassle. Any other examples?
Doc.

I'm not sure about '69s... but for 1967, I'm informed the stamp (on wiper motor) has a julian date & year (67), followed (usually but not always) by 2 letters whose purpose was uncertain.

an addition to my previous comment... Received in yesterday's mail, both the '67-'68, and also the 1969, Judging Manuals. Both books appear to agree that all 3 years' coding incorporates Julian date in some fashion.

The 1969 book discusses various permutations of part#'s, stamps vs. stickers, and transition dates. It seems complementary to the post Steve linked above (also quoted below), which includes a wealth of observation detail.

'67-'68 are more straightforward. Since this discussion is focused on 1969 I'll leave it at that.

Pull this up and I think you'll find quite a few examples and answers -
