Seems like a lot for a pacesetter, but in today's exuberant purchases who's to say. And it just makes me laugh to see BFG's on a car that "underwent a full restoration".

"[...] Starting with a trim tag correct 1967 Ermine White Camaro RS/SS Big Block convertible [...]" But, of course, photo not shown.  I'd bet $100 that the cowl tag has the typical drilled out looking rivets, showing that it has been removed at some point.

There is a pic of the trim tag in the online ad - bad angle, doesn't show clearly, but has likely been off the car as it has no sealer in the trim rivet holes. (Nice shiny white firewall, too - )

First things i noticed in all the hoopla was the absent garb handle on the passenger side (i thought this was included on all '67 Pacers), plus the manual brake master cylinder (drum brake car, or manual disc ?). Otherwise, very pretty car, well out of my reach -

Looks like I'll be keeping that $100.

I've never been in a restoration shop, but I swear the conversation must go something like this:

A:  What are we working on today?
B:  We've got a 196x Camaro that we're restoring.
A:  Cool, let me get a drill and pry bar to get the cowl tag off.
B:  What?  Why are you removing that little thin piece of metal?
A:  They must all come off during any sort of restoration.  They're not really in the way, we just need to remove them.
B:  Sounds good, let's get that thing off so we can start the resto.

I apologize for not heeding my spell checker - I have to admit I’ve never seen a “garb” handle (lol).

At the very least, this tag is not as obvious as I’ve noticed, like the “X33” at a local show a few years back with #10 pan headed screws (flat blade) securely holding it in place. Owner said he was sure it was an original car -

67 did not have a grab handle, pace car replica or not. Perhaps the real pace cars had one added as part of the modifications for the track, like the rear bumper flag holders?

Plenty of trim tags have been observed without any sealer in the rivet holes on original cars.

Pointedly, the grab handle is mentioned not only in the Mecum description, but also in a lot of the literature I have on hand and started collecting many years ago, long before I bought my ‘69 Pace Car. I had a friend that owned one of the replicas - his was equipped with one, most I’ve seen that were original (and not necessarily restored) had them. I’ll give it the benefit of a doubt and look at the equipment lists to see whether it was mandatory or not.

Okay, I see it now, along the top of the windshield. I thought the said grab handle was on the dash, above the glovebox like 68/9 Z87 Camaros. :) OOPS, not too familiar with verts! ???
