U-S-A-1 License Plate
« on: May 13, 2022, 08:09:05 PM »
Looking for help on the correct year possibilities for the U-S-A-1 license plates. This source seems definitive and matches up with the old plate that came with but not on my 67. The second source is from CRG but is in conflict with first source. Thanks for any help!

See America’s First is correct for 1967 & 68.  You have 2 different styles of said plate.  First was shiny gold and with a cardboard backing and the 2nd was satin gold and blue/green back.

Excellent information!  Mine is the 2nd version.  @cook_dw, were there any other slogans/plates for gen 1 camaros?  Which slogans for which years?

As far as USA-1 plates for 1st gens there were only the 2 I am aware of.

See America’s First!

Putting You First…Keeps Us First!

If I am wrong by mistake, I’m sure someone will chime in.

Putting You First...Keeps Us First is mainly known as the '69 plate although I'm sure some dealers back then had a surplus of these plates and I would assume there was bleed over of the See America's First plate onto some '69's.  Since these were not items placed on the cars from the factory one could consider it as a "dealer option" as many states required state issued plates front and back which I know was the case in Ohio.

I think the see America first with the Gold satin paint letters was the latter 67-68 plate

The slogan for 69-70 was "putting you first, keeps us first"

and 71-72 it was "putting you first in a big way!"
