Two things catch my attention - the DX1 striping on the green Camaro in the middle row at the right and the D96 “pin striping” on the green Camaro below it - the D96 pin striping looks to me to be much wider than what you normally see.  A factory (LOS) anomaly?

Several observations for me would be white wall tires. Car on the bottom appears to be a RS with the lights open. That car has poverty caps waiting. The car in the middle has wheel covers waiting. I enlarged the picture some...Joe

Brings back memories riding with Dad in "our"68. His friend/co-worker had ordered a '70 and we would always stop by the train yard when a load of cars came in, waiting on the new Camaros.

The first car on the top row looks like a Firebird.  What color was that orange called?  It doesn't look the same as Camaro's Hugger Orange.

Carousel Red was Pontiacs version of Hugger Orange. Lotta factors could contribute to color variations in a 54 yr old photo. The 4th car back looks the same...

They didn’t have to enclose the car carriers back then and there is no spray paint on any of the cars. When the trains go by now, you can’t tell if the car carriers are full or empty, but most of them have graffiti on them.

The Yenko Truck must be a REALLY rare find (LOL).  Hard to tell if 2 different trucks? ...or same truck with different lettering on the door?

After studying the photos going back and forth I am going to say the trucks are probably the same, IMHO there are too many similarities in the car hauling ramps and support. Even if they are different they are at different time periods for Yenko orders.

The first photo B&W includes one of each color from the first 50 X66 coded cars 10 each DY HO LB FG OG. PLUS a Garet Red or Fathom Green Yenko Nova. The one on the truck is a Daytona Yellow X66 - yellow rockers and gill trim. I have wondered aloud in Dave Beem's presence if this may be his car, which is one of the first 10 DY cars plus his was transferred by truck in the winter to Gates, Indiana and his also has yellow rockers, one of the other X66 DY yenkos has black rockers (the yet to be found much photographed drag car) 

The 2nd photo has the DY chevelle and a couple of X11 cars (gill trim and wheel opening moldings are visible on the Fathom green and hugger orange cars plus the HO car has blacked out rockers.)
On the bottom row looks like a Lemans Blue Yenko Nova with dog dishes & redlines.

Does anyone know when the orders for the first Chevelles were placed?

I thought it was the same truck as well. Wonder what became of it...bet it'd be worth about as much as one of those 69's it's hauling, today. Wonder if it was a V6 or could've been a 427 ?!?

Agree, the haulers look the same.
Unless that Firebird was a special order color, it was most likely Carousel Red.

Imagining that photo in color...snow on the ground and a bunch of purdy Yenkos on a BEAST of a hauler. lol I'm thinkin' someone with photoshop skills and your talents, James, could make some AWESOME Christmas cards!

So the bottom one in the belly is Olympic Gold I take it, 'cause of the black stripe and the one in the rear, below the Nova is LM Blue?

Here is one with 1967 model year Camaros and a Corvette and one with 1969 Camaros.  I thought I had more first generation photos but it turns out I have multiple photos with later generation Camaros.  I'll keep looking.

Great Nose photo of a ALCO C628 Century Locomotive!

Autoracks did not need fully enclosed sides since in that Day,,,,,,,(Can not comment why);;;;

Yenko.net had a bunch of rail photos but most - all are gone now

There were dealers that ordered cars in special colors; kind of a signature of sorts. Not saying that's the case here, but a possibility.

It does look similar to Dana Orange, did they do Pontiacs too ?

I honestly think it's Carousel Red (Hugger Orange) and just appears lighter from the sunlight angle and possibly the photo as well.

There were Olympic Gold, Lemans Blue, and Hugger Orange cars with both white and black Yenko stripes I believe the only colors with a single stripe color were Daytona Yellow with black and Fathom Green with white. I am not sure if any non Vtop Ralley Green cars had a black stripe or not.

Okay guys, thanks. I guess 3 out of the 5 are pretty obvious what color they are. The Oly Gold and LM Blue are difficult to distinguish in B&W. Plus the Nova!

We had a train stop area here and things were stolen all the time. That is how a good friend gave me a bucket of parts his Dad had collected back in the late 60’s forward that included battery hold down clamps which showed dip painted. Seems he found stuff like the clamps due to people stealing the batteries  and just tossing the clamp to the ground.

I was at a wrecking yard in Cinci back in the late 1990's and we got to talking muscle cars and the owner of the yard talked about running from the RR police in an impala back in the late 60's with a trunk load of Muncie transmissions they had liberated from a RR car.

I absolutely love the white stripe on Daytona Yellow cars with the White striped Olympic Gold cars being a toss up. Actually coin toss me on OG white stripe or DY white stripe and I would consider either a win.

Yes its been found. Restored with black stripes until vintage photos showed it to have have white...BKH
