From the files of “They NEVER built it”.
« on: April 25, 2022, 09:18:42 PM »
I’ve seen it, worked on it, given advice on how to preserve it, pushed him to show it in public for people to see it. His name is Lee and back in the 50’ thru the 70’s, his father in law was a big wig at Chevrolet in Engineering. Lee and his wife got her father’s demo. Back window is original, the grill and gas cap emblem were restamped, it’s got some “experimental parts on it”.

Date code is on same line as the AS6, but to the right and below the other bottom side of the Regalite diamond logo.

I feel like I have seen that emblem and gas cap before in the past..  Just can't remember when and where.

If not mistaken the one on the 68 RS/SS pictured with the custom 68 C10 from the hotrod article and NY autoshow was custom lettered.

I think the letters are from the CHEVELLE letters on a mid 60's Chevelle.
I first though they were Corvette letters from the tail of a C3. however the base of the corvette letters stand out from the body further because of the curve in the rear tail panel.

He’s taken it to the GM Nationals in Carlisle before. Took some prodding but he got it there. Let people see it and enjoy it, take pi, etc.
