This is what OER says the 3923539 should look like - there's no way that's right !!!

https://www.ebay.com/itm/393889346241?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20200818142055%26meid%3D11dd16aacba941d6b677b9424ff43608%26pid%3D101113%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D313738348917%26itm%3D393889346241%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2563228%26algv%3DDefaultOrganicWeb&_trksid=p2563228.c101113.m2108

Then you have this (which I believe is right):

Heres another pic of an NOS L48 throttle rod with the part tag still attached.

Notice there is a slight bend in it about 3 inches from the threaded end.

Yes, about the bend...  When laying flat, it looks like the bend is also flat.  So when mounted to the accel arm does the bend go towards pass side or drivers?

Jonesy, your cotterpin is on the pass side, mine is on the drivers, which is correct? thx

Ha!! Now thats a great question. I looked at some really old pics when I first took my engine out.
The threaded part of the rod was actually up on the linkage coming out of the firewall so maybe it was in backwards?

The L30, which I beleive takes the same rod shows the threaded part on the carb end, but the L48 shows it as the threaded part up by the firewall.
Both illustrations in the AIM show it connected with cotter pin on inside facing pass side.
So I guess the bend has something to do with alignment. I would have to look at it again on my car to see which way the bend makes more sense.

I have never seen the threaded part on the firewall side in all the Camaros I took apart.  GM wouldn't do that IMO, as if adjusted poorly, the threaded rod would hit the firewall at WOT.

I see the "V8" AIM page 104 has the cotterpin on the pass side. And I see a bend there, it looks like the accel arm is more to the drivers fender that the 2bbl carb throttle arm and the bend gets it back parallel the the CL of engine.

L48 does not have a pic of that so it can be assumed same as 2bbl V8.  L-65 pic on page 306 show the same 2bbl pic as a V8, but shows the small bracket for the return spring like a L48.  Hmm.

I would have to agree with that assessment. The threaded part would be down by the carb. I think cotter pins are both on pass side.

Right!  I will have to switch mine and see how the bend works (I found one in my stash) :)

I don't see a cotter pin used in the AIM - its a C Clip (retainer).  See View A - #4- its part number 9416713.  I found an NOS one on eBay, and it ended up too big. - this is where it all started for me.

Yes, the C-clip is for the carb side of the rod.  Jonesy and I were talking about the firewall end of the rod where it mounts to the accel arm, #7 p/n103373 Pin View B.

I still have original c-clips on my swivels, do you need measurements?

No - I'm fine w/o measurements, I just like to find the correct C-clip.  I know I could go to any hardware store, but the GM clips had a different profile / internal pattern.  (being picky - I know.)

Sounds like everyone wants to keep their c-clips ( I assume that is what you are looking for :) )

Rod and swivel alternative candidate:

Firewall end clip per Heartbeat:

Carb end per GM gr. 3.425:

Quadrajetparts.com has a clip close to the #103373, slightly different profile -
