Hello First Gen Camaro Experts:

As a follow-up to an older post, I'm still trying to find the correct PCV Valve for my 1968 Camaro 327/210 hp standard model built on May 14, 1968 in Norwood Ohio.  The Legends judging manual states that in 1968 the PCV Valve is CV736C for all V-8 Camaros except the Z28 which received the CV746C.  When I checked the 1968 Camaro FAIM (UPC 6 C7 page 102) the part number is 6424251.  However, in the 1969 GM Parts Catalog Revised 7-1-69, the part number is 6423695.  I've attached copies of the FAIM and the parts catalog pages.  I'm guessing that CV746C is the correct PCV Valve, but I'm not sure why the GM part numbers are different.  Also, is there any variation/different color between CV736C for a May 68 Camaro and later 69/70 model Camaros?  Would a PCV CV736C with a date on the AC Delco box of 1972 be correct for Legends judging for a May 68 Camaro ?  Many thanks.  gwp4

GM typically combines other application models to 1 common part number. The parts manual is for service parts.

For your 68 the only correct PCV would be the spun valve design type CV736 IMO. Those are extremely difficult to find and in many cases if found, crazy prices.
