I am looking too. I spoke to Heartbeat City, they reproduce the correct rails and cores but indicated the wait is long. I also spoke with Jerry M who had his rebuilt and was pleased with the results so you might reach out to him. I haven't sent mine out yet!

I was having to decide which direction to go with my 68Z Rad: Glen-Ray Rad in WI or Local sourced shop.  I was really leaning towards shipping the unit out but after discussions with the local shop about reutilization of or grafting orig top and bottom rails to replacement core, I went the local route and am still waiting final build at this time. My local wait is at  6 mo and counting.

Glen-Ray has done work for me and does them correctly. Even had some NOS Harrison cores in stock. I had two local radiator shops butcher jobs. They repair radiators and don't know anything about correct restorations. We had a radiator shop in our old bodyshop years ago.

The radiator in my 69 L-78 is long gone.  Who makes the best reproduction?  I checked with Dewitts but they only have hotrod parts it seems.

Thanks

Eckler's shows them:

https://www.ecklers.com/camaro-harrison-radiators-show-quality-correct-33-321638-1.html

Oldparts.com has 4 core manual "A" body radiators they say are completely correct (rails and cores, brackets) for around $750. Pic looks really good, too -

One of these days I'll send mine to Glen-Ray, when I can access my 401K, pension or home equity (i've got 4 manual trans radiators to spruce up, from Nova to Z to L78). Thank goodness the rails. brackets and tanks are originals and intact.

Steve

Thanks for the info.  I am also finishing a restoration on a 57 NAPCO 3100.  Correct restoration parts are not as plentiful for trucks as they are for musclecars.  I have the original dated radiator and was referred to Brassworks for restoring it.  I have never heard of Glen-Ray but that's also an option.

Greenville Radiator in Greenville SC will recore correctly with the original rails,
$600 the last 2 I know of were done in less than a month (COPO CHEVELLE and LS5 AC Corvette).
Guy with the copo chevelle a month or so ago stated he was great to work with.

A place, near me, in Southern Ohio does quality restoration work. This guy has done some very expensive radiators for Pebble Beach Concours, high end, rich guy stuff. He is a true car enthusiast, owns classic cars of his own and knows GM muscle. He advertises in Hemmings (or did). His name is Steve Powell , Powell Radiator, Wilmington, Ohio

James, Can you post contact information? I can't seem to find them on the internet. Ready to take my original rad in for re-coring.

FYI: Greenville Radiator is actually AAugusta Road Radiator Shop, Inc. , 3488 Augusta Rd. Greenville, SC 29605, Roy Young is the owner, Phone is:1-864-277-2928.
I stopped by James' (firstgenaddict) shop this morning and we figured out the name change. BTW double AA in Augusta for shop name is correct
They quoted me $600 and 2 weeks for my 4 row curved neck radiator for re-coring. He knew the significance of the unit. As James stated they've done work for others on here.
I'll post pictures of it when I get it back.

Update

The friend of a friend needing radiator service has called three of the shops listed. No answer, left messages. Has yet to hear from any of them.

Maybe a second try to all 3? I had a place I left a message and frustrated they did not return my call. I, finally tried again and they said my message was garbled and they could not understand the number given. Just a thought? Some of those guys close for a month at a time for setup at a swap or going to a car show.

I just got off the phone 5 minutes ago with Glen-Ray. Talked to the tech for a bit. I can have other shops around me rebuild radiators but I will have to babysit some of them.

Larson's Radiator Service (Norway, MI).
They did a heater core for me. Have heard they do good work on radiators as well.

I got my 69 BB Radiator back today from AAugusta in Greenville SC. Two weeks to the day (with Holiday). Stopped by James' (FirstGenAddict) shop. He was droolin" LOL.
Anyway, I spoke to the owner Roy. He saved the tanks and the top and bottom rails. Everything was cleaned and painted. Here are some pictures to see the work.

I can't explain to others not getting them to pick up. It's a busy shop and his daughter Tiffany answers the phone.
If someone wants to send their radiator to me I will take it directly to them, pick up and ship back to you. LMK
