69 Big Block Power Steering Hoses
« on: June 19, 2021, 11:07:07 PM »
I'm getting ready to remove the headers from my 69 big block car and install original exhaust manifolds. My power steering hoses have been on top of the upper control arm ever since I built this car due to the headers. I've been looking at the AIM and it looks like the hoses actually went under the engine frame mounts but the illustration is a little vague to me. Does anyone have a picture of their power steering hoses in the correct location on a big block car? Any help would be appreciated. Please see attached photo.

They go to the inside edge of the frame pod. There's a bracket they both go through N40 A9 is a fair picture but not great...Joe

I have never owned an original big block Camaro but the ones I have converted I changed the engine mounts out and run the pwr steering hoses through the mount like this - I know its not at all factory correct but it has always kept them protected from exhaust or suspension parts.   I snipped from the above image to illustrate

I have an original small block power steering car and I think it has that same bracket on it. Was a SB and BB bracket the same?
