1968 LOS 04D L30M20 POP Error?
« on: May 29, 2021, 10:06:08 PM »
We've had our 68 Camaro for more than 10 years now and when we purchased it it was being represented to us as a L30M20. I do believe it to be an original L30m20 and the POP mostly supports this except for the transmission code. The issue is that the POP indicates the transmission type as "S" Saginaw 3 speed. I've read about POP's containing error's and am interested to know what CRG members thoughts are on this particular car.

Here are the cars vitals and numbers photos:

Yep. Just a stamping mistake on the POP. The transmission R8C25) proves it's a Saginaw M20 4 speed transmission.

Thanks Ed.
I'd imagine the error rate was much less than 1% but given he volume of POP's being produced there must have been a few mistakes a day being made at any given plant.
