Interesting that 124379N635999 originally sold as a ROUGH ROLLING SHELL (without the original engine or transmission) back in 2018 for $5750.00, but somehow grew what appears to be the original engine and transmission in the new CRAIGSLIST AD!

Description in 2018:

Quote
You are bidding on a 1969 Chevrolet Z28 Camaro Coupe for restore. Body Only. No dash or interior. 124379N635999. TITLE. This is a real Z28 Body X33. Bought from original owner who parted it out. Still has the 12 bolt POSI. NO motor or transmission.

Description from the new Craigslist ad:

Quote
V0403DZ 9N635999
COMPLETELY REBUILT AND RECONDITIONED WITH ALL OF THE CORRECT INTERNAL PARTS

THIS VEHICLE WAS BUILT AND INTENDED FOR A PRIVATE, DISCERNING COLLECTOR THAT WANTED A RARE, TRUE, REAL DEAL Z28 WITH MATCHING ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL

Note that the ad also mentions Greg Long, Angola, Indiana.

Like, hmmmm.... if your going to do something like that you better be smart about and make sure there are no loose ends. Ed, your eagle eyes are appreciated.

Didn't notice it had already been discussed. I'll merge the two threads.

The stamp looks close to being to high for the gang holder to fit with the head on ?  I just got one of my cars inspected by JM a few weeks ago. There was some cars there with issues that the owners had no idea they even existed. I have seen more than one '69 Z/28 with the wrong engine/trans/rear. But like I have heard Jerry say, at least it's still a real Z/28. Maybe Larry was just confirming THAT?.. Danny

More accurately stated... "It was at one time a real Z28..."   which means what in terms of value?   many burned down houses USED to be very nice homes....

ie. Z28 emblems on a Camaro does NOT mean it's a Z28...  by the same token, a X77 or X33 on the body plate doesn't mean that it's 'still' a Z28 either.   A Z28 carried many special parts and required special options before it was completed in the factory... NOT just emblems or a body plate!
