Rare Van Nuys Export Camaro to Yanase Ltd Japan
« on: May 11, 2021, 12:02:59 PM »
Here is something I have never seen, a Van Nuys Export 1969 Camaro for Japanese Dealership Yanase Ltd in Tokyo Japan.

I can't find much about Van Nuys cars built for export or Yanase here on CRG, is there any data on these cars?

Yanase was an importer of foreign vehicles into Japan:

I remember when a friend was visiting Japan some time ago and saw a crowd surrounding a car that was parked and when he checked it out, it was a first generation Pontiac Firebird that had seen better days.

I know that the Van Nuys Plant did build 3rd generation Camaros for export to Japan as I saw a few that were waiting to be shipped.  These cars were left-hand drive and we didn't build many as they needed to be modified to meet the required Japanese Government specifications and were expensive.

Yanase was an importer of foreign vehicles into Japan:

At this time period, Yanase was an importer of luxury foreign vehicles into Japan. This Camaro is pretty loaded making a luxury vehicle. RS/SS, AT, Deluxe interior, Fold Down, AC, PW, etc.

CRG states all export vehicles were produced at Norwood, this shows otherwise. No information on foreign importers either, just foreign assembly plants. Must not have enough data.

Owner asked about value added on CRG a few years ago, but never updated with pictures. We will see what the market says, ask is 55K.

As a common courtesy, I checked for a thread on this car before posting this one, a day before that one started.

This is a the first export out of LOS that we've seen.
And the first time we've seen the tags for this car.

Not a big deal. The threads started on the same day, and probably not everyone made the connection.
