New 4 door Blazers and Broncos
« on: February 09, 2021, 10:26:51 PM »
Boys,
Since I am a purest, why would Chevy and Ford make 'new' 4 door Blazers and Broncos? They SHOULD be 2 doors. Your thoughts...

They may need to make the 4 door versions, (larger market) to be able to make the 2 door versions. If thats what it takes I am ok with it. Wish they made 2 door Chargers

I'm not sure how old you are, but remember the sixties and seventies when 2 doors were the thing? Not to be mean, but most people back then were smaller. Today people are much bigger as in heavy. Today's people have a hard time getting in and out of two door vehicles. So as a result most vehicles are 4 doors. Aside from Camaro, challenger and Mustang can you think of a two door car? There are a few but most are performance speciality car. Every day sedans, suv's, crossovers and even trucks are 4 doors. My young son in law doesn't understand my obsession with 2 doors. He was looking at a 66 Impala that was a 4 door he couldn't understand why I didn't think it was a good deal. Lol

They have to compete with other brands in their market niche offering 4dr models.

Well, not really. You're thinking of the new SUV named 'Ford Mustang Mach-Ev'. This is NOT the pony car. However, remember back in the late 1980s, Ford was considering switching the Mustang to a front drive disaster during the very popular 5.0 HO days? That car eventually became the Probe. Again, in my opinion naming an SUV after Mustang is a MAJOR disaster. I personally think Ford has an identity problem with their new models. Here is the official link:
