What Year is this Hood?
« on: July 05, 2020, 11:55:56 PM »
I looked at pictures of other hoods with extra holes etc. Is this hood a '69? What year is it?... Thanx .. Danny

'69 hood, pre-April. Should have a date stamp along the side at the rear corners.

The "week" stamp should be on the drivers rear side corner.

I am familiar with the left side back corner week dates on hoods. I have no access to it. It's not the year anyway. But I thought this was a '69, but wasn't sure. Thanx... Danny

The week stamp seems to be mostly on the driver bottom corner but there are hoods with the week stamping on the driver front corner as well.

What changed on the hood after April?

Sometime in April, they added reinforcing ribs in the shape of pyramids to the hood structure. Common to see pancaked standard hoods or ducted hoods with dimples at the base of the duct. Too much flex when closing the hood.
