Last production day for 1968 Camaro
« on: May 22, 2020, 05:56:16 PM »
Does anyone know the last day of production for the 1968 Camaro model year at the Norwood plant (and the VIN of the last car, if you know)?  Thanks for any help!

I’m trying to calculate the number of production days left of the model year from June 20, 1968.

The core CRG members would know much more, but from http://www.camaros.org/geninfo.shtml#HowMany there were only 2,147 units reported as being produced at Norwood in July 1968, with 8N484735 being the reported 'end VIN'.
Please read the caveats prior to the table in the link above, for those reasons stated, the data reported shouldn't be relied upon with certainty.
Daily Norwood production rates have been stated previously, but may not have been consistent near the end of production?

Daily rates are very inconsistent the last month of production. I still don't understand your end goal. Are you trying to figure out what day your car was produced?

During that period of time (1968-69-70) current model year production, new orders were terminated on/around 30 June of each year.  Which would generally mean that the last cars produced for that year's models would come off the assembly line within a couple of days afterwards.   At that point each plant would begin transition for production of the following year's models.   That time frame might change a little depending upon the significance of the changes in the car and production processes for a specific model.

No, as stated before, I’m trying to find out the last production day of the 1968 model year, at the Norwood plant.  I know when my car was assembled.
