Here is another item I have never seen before.  Dig this vintage 1969 television commercial made specifically for the 1969 Camaro RS/SS convertible Indy Pace Car (Z11).  Click on the link and scroll down on the left side to 06:21:10 to play the commercial: http://www.historicfilms.com/search/?q=pace+car#p3t13390i0o3559

The "pacecar with pacesetter values" is the tagline used at the end of the commercial.

While none of the "drivers" are actual contemporary race car drivers, they did a good job of marrying the different types of motor racing by having different characters representing Drag Racing, Formula One, USAC Champcar and NASCAR in the commercial.

Great film. Interesting to see in the 'super scoop' close-up at 06:21:50 that the cowl vent panel isn't painted with the hugger orange stripes to match the hood.

Tim, that is a fantastic observation.  I hadn't noticed that but you are correct.  I wonder how that could have happened.  Now I'm wondering if this same car without the painted cowl vent panel was used in any other promotional materials?

Maybe just an oversight, or the vent panel got damaged and had to be replaced in a hurry? The Z/28 stripe treatment had been in production for several years, so even a pre-production pacer should have got that detail correct.
