How come no one seems to care unless your car is significant?

In the seat belt section of this forum it is said:
"You can help with our research. Please contact us if:
you have rear shoulder belts in your first generation Camaro or shoulder belts in a convertible.
you have a 67 Camaro with 3 sets of rear seatbelts.
you have a 67 or 68 Camaro with a bench seat and its original seat belts.

I Have one and have attempted to contact several of the contributors of this site
is this research project still ongoing? getting tired of the "cold shoulder"
maybe if I owned a Z28 or super car it would be different, but alas I'm only able to afford a one owner survivor, I take consolation in the fact at least its an SS
funny thing about them Borg Warner HD 3 Speed trannys, only about 600 were installed in camaros that I can tell and yet no one wants to learn about them,
 or never shows any interest when its posted,,,,just food for thought

technically that would make them as rare as a Z28 in '67....

Kurt S complied that report with help from myself and many other members.  Just post the pics, date codes (with cowl, vin tag info) and lengths here and he should be able to pick the data up when he has free time.  Or a PM to Kurt will work too, but everyone has a life away from these websites :) and it will get in the report eventually.  I think I saw Kurt was at MACN in Chicago recently.

The trans info would also be appreciated if the data is not in the current trans pages.

Kurt is a great guy.  I sent him some information on my car and he did get back to me. I can't imagine the emails he gets.  Data collection takes a long time when your dependent on members to send you their data and you have to verify, compile and publish. Send Kurt your data ad you'll be ahead of the game if they do a research on that subject.  Yes, all Camaros are special.  One of mine came with a 3 speed floor shift.  Unfortunately I disinigrated it in 1979. Whoa!

Nobody ignores anyone here. None of the CRG members monitor this site 24/7. We all have lives and can’t see every post. Sometimes emails go unanswered - due to different reasons. Heck we all forget stuff. If I ever forget to answer anyone’s email, please don’t assume I am ignoring you (unless you know for sure I am  ;) ).  Just kidding! Just email again to remind me!!!

Please post your information in this thread you started. I am not sure of the current status of what we are looking for data-wise. I will email you direct.

Personally I am interested in all Camaros, including HD 3 speed cars.
I will also let Kurt know.

681 Camaros in 1967 received the M13 HD 3 speed manual transmission. Please share some pics when you have time.

Corrected. M13 in 67 and 68 became MC1 in 69. Yes I had 69s on my mind thus the error above. Fixed now......

I'm pretty sure Bryon meant M13 (not MC1) for 67-8 HD Borg Warner.

I truly believe all cars and the data they provide are significant to this group.

It's clearly not prejudiced in any form.  Guess you haven't noticed how much information on non-hipo Camaros is on the site, be it L6, L30, foreign, etc.

Key question about your belts - is there a center belt set?

That's helpful confirmation. From the data, it's clear that 67 bench seat cars didn't get center belts. But 68 benches did.

I spent about 5 hours updating the report. Ain't html great! Or a great time sink......

Kurt,

If I understand your post correctly, you're saying that in 1968, center seat belt (ie. 3 seat belts) in the front 'bench seat camaros??   Didn't it matter what transmission/shifter was installed?   ie. with a 3-4 speed in the floor, it still had belts for a center front seat passenger?

ps.. man, if we'd known that when we were single, they would have sold lots more of them...  :)

That is why I took the center counsel out and had a nice gal make me color matching pillow to put on the hump so she could sit next to me......

I filmed Dr. Krupp back in the 1990s for a local LA TV show about the 'Solar Systems' and I remember his Camaro! Too bad, we did not get any shots of the car…Thanks for posting the article.
