BR or B-R on ignition coil can?
« on: October 30, 2013, 05:40:06 AM »
Can anyone please explain the difference in 'BR' and 'B-R' coil can stampings? I've seen both, and wonder if it changed over from one to the other at some point in production, or if both were used simultaneously on the assembly line.
If the stamps did change during production, which one would be correct for an 04A of 1969 LA-assembled car?

I've read that the changeover from BR to B-R occurred some time in the 68 model year.  Maybe try an advanced search here for old posts.

So BR is for earlier coils, and B-R for later ones, changing some time in 1968-onwards?

I've chased this same question as well. As best as I can tell, early 68 models were br and then changed to b-r at some time during 68 calendar and certainly by the time 69's were rolling off the assembly line.
Would be good to try and narrow this one down.

b-r's are easy to find, br's are a pig! I only recently snared one off fleabay after years of hunting!!
