Always wonder the value of this is if you don't have the car it is tied to.  Seems like alot of money for a novelty otherwise.

It's interesting how much things change in 50 yrs!  :)

I flipped the PtP image and got:

Owner - F. Fernandez, 1802 N. Oak St, Arlington VA.     This is now in the middle of the Arlington business district!

Dealer - Rosenthal Chevrolet.   Apparently was closed or moved, but there were some very negative reviews left for whatever is left of the dealership!

The CAR itself is probably gone too....?   and having the CAR is about the only reason anyone would want/need the PtP...

Price is ridiculous. Car probably doesn’t exist.

If it was my car I wouldn't pay through the nose like that anyway. The buyer may have the POP, but I'm his only market. Mexican standoff.

The value of an item is really just what someone is prepared to pay for it.
The seller is probably hopeful that the car is still out there, and if so, that's not an unreasonable price to pay to have further proof to support and boost the car's value, especially if it is now NOM.
Not judging, but consider how much some correct parts to finish a restoration have sold for recently - $200 for an OE speedometer cable clip, $300 for a brake booster vacuum hose bracket, $400 for a set of valve stem dust caps........

And some people are nuts for paying the prices they pay.

I am glad I just have an old drag race car...

The seller of my Z made a huge deal about the emblems being NOS. The paint flaked off first time I washed it.
