Low Fuel light fixed
« on: October 18, 2009, 02:09:10 AM »
As it turned out, the only problem I had was the low fuel module bulb. I did not know that the bulb in the socket served any purpose for the low fuel module.

With the ignition switch on and the Low Fuel light on, I pulled the bulb out of the socket and the ligt went out. I put the bulb back in the socket and the light came on. The bulb does not illuminate, but acts like a connection, I guess.

Can someone explain why GM used a bulb in this module? Or is this just look like a bulb and is not or what?

What you call a “low fuel module bulb” sounds more like a fuse.

It looks like a bulb, not a fuse but acts like a fuse.

There are many different types of fuses. Some look like bulbs. Does yours look anything like the ones at:

I had a similar experience like this a long time ago. I think it MAY work for a 67 sender module when used in a 68-69 application. It was never intended to have a bulb in the module socket on any Camaro application.
