« on: December 16, 2018, 09:44:09 PM »
Does anyone have a photo or specs./drawing of the heat shield spacer bolt on 69 396/325 hp engine
I I can find the specs we will make a run of these in our machine shop if anyone is interested.
Can't seem to find anyone that has them for sale, and actually in stock.

That looks like it. I will call them tomorrow to see if is the same as for the 398 and if they have it in stock.
I ordered one from R & R about 6 months ago which the back ordered. Not a word since.
Easy to make but not for that price if I can find one
Thanks for the reply
Merry Christmas to all

It's the same. P/N 3943648. UPC L35/L34, Sheet A10, item 6 in the 1969 Camaro AIM, and UPC L36, Sheet A5, item 5 in the 1969 Corvette AIM.

PARAGON also sells it, as do most other Corvette vendors.

Thanks for bringing this up.
IIRC, the 3954224 shield is missing on my car. Anybody have a good source for these?
NPD has them for $162! I found one place for $55. These used to be a few bucks from GM....

The part number on the D&R site is M00473, price is $19.95.

Originals seem to be hard to find in nice condition.

Kurt, there are two repops. One is a "replacement" for less than $20, and the other is supposedly "correct" for around $35 (Both shown HERE).

Of course, if you're rich and stupid (which I happen to know you're neither), you can buy THIS OLD BEAT UP ONE from Heartbeat City for a grand! (Or save $75 by getting it off his WEB SITE!)

The replacement is the mid-70's heat shield, 361443. It has a notch on the top edge.
The $35 is the right one, 3954224. That's a lot better than I was finding.
Thanks!

Yeah. Classic Muscle usually has some good prices. Not sure about shipping though! I try to stick with THE CAR AND TRUCK SHOP because they also have good prices and are local (about 45 minutes away from me), or CLASSIC INDUSTRIES (about an hour away). Shipping nowadays can cost almost as much (if not AS MUCH) as the parts!!!
