0424 on the rearend,,114-115. 04d(68) build date.

After soaking, one side was fine, the other faded, but legible. Painted with quantra white, inspection mark paint.looks good,,even being hid.

On the drums, if it means anything. I believe just part numbers on the cylinders.

Our 68 seemed to be 36 something so very late 1967 for our 01B car. It's still on as I cleaned carefully and used evaporust. Cleared it with satin lacquer to protect if I remember correctly.


Some simple and easily obtained paints to color match components I used.

Jano raised question about the brake cylinders....

.... I believe just part numbers on the cylinders.

I rebuilt my brake cylinders and have a photo of one of them, although I don't know the significance of the numbers.   Some of these numbers might be a date code??

The "7/8 5464 079" is the standard script for these so nothing to do with date code Gary.
