Firewall Fuse Box Junction Bolt
« on: August 23, 2018, 09:11:03 PM »
I was hoping someone could tell me what bolt holds the electrical plug into the fuse box. It is on the engine side of the firewall, below the master cylinder, in the center of the electrical junction.

AIM says that the bolt is part of the wiring harness. Ricks, Heartbeat City, etc don't seem to list a bolt. I can't seem to get anything to start, and don't want to strip it.

Thanks.

The bolt holds both sides of the wiring harness into the fuse box and it will come out

I don't remember if it was on here or Team Camaro, someone just had trouble with their bolt coming out and on the fuse box side there is a nut attached to the fuse box that holds all of the this into the firewall

On our 68 the original bolt is the one on the left & was clear zinc (silver). On the new wiring harness they had what matched exactly what our original was but in yellow zinc. After glass beading our original I had it coated with a fresh application of clear zinc and replaced the incorrect coated bolt with our original. The new wiring harness with the yellow zinc bolt had a push on nut that was a rascal to get off. I did not have that with our original wiring harness but apparently the bolt did come with the harness.
