« on: August 15, 2018, 02:18:21 AM »
Hi all I just bought a 69 Camaro & am trying to check out different forums. I will have a lot of question as I start working on the car. I like reading what everyone else had gone through. Can you tell me what other sites are out there that specialize I Camaro.

Welcome!

I believe all you will need to know, will come from the CRG site.

Plenty of knowledgeable members here, so ask away.

Welcome, I was a newbie about a year ago and the amount of info. I've learned about Camaros is incredible, but the more I read posts from the Kings on this site the more I realize I know so very little. Great place here, everyone is really helpful and great to chat back and forth with. The search function will bring up tons of past forum strings to read on different topics, but if you can't find an answer there many guys on here will help you out. Congrats on the Camaro btw, would love to see a pic or three.

I will post some pics soon. The car is a coupe, bought in Az. appears to have spent it's life here in the SW as there is not a spot of rot on it & no signs of any panel replacement. I've been looking for quite a while across the country for a car to start out with. Then a friend finds this one about 20 miles from home, saw it in the morning, put it up on a lift spent a couple hours going over it & bought it when I was done. I am going to do an fairly extensive build in a couple phases so I wanted a solid body, good interior & not have the wiring hacked on. I didn't want to tie up much of the purchase price on engine or trans as they are both going away, so this was the perfect car to start with. Currently it has a 350 & 700R4. I am going to pull the front subframe, blast & paint it & rebuild the steering & suspension. Put in an RS grille & put an LS376 & a 4L75E trans. Then go enjoy it for a while until I do phase 2, a narrowed rear, mini tubs & 325 rear tires. look forward to running specific ideas past the group for input.

Did the car start off as a plain jane 307 car and the 350 and 700r4 were added?
What is the original color?
 what color is it now?
What color do you plan on painting it?

I haven't checked the serial numbers to see what motor it was born with.
It was originally gold & currently it's Lemans blue with white race stripes.
Eventually I will paint it Azure blue with the same white stripes.
The paint on it doesn't look bad at all, it has some striping & mottling in the metallic, but overall it look ok so paint will come a bit later. I also have a 70 split bumper drag car I am finishing up. Just painted it Pewter silver with black stripes.
