Looking at BOTH of my cars and some other pic's.... It looks like the 4 is to close to the one?   Danny

I had the same thought about the 1-4 spacing but I'm not an expert either.

Also noticed on the OP alternator picture no - (dash) after the date.

The stated originals have a - (dash).

Did they all originally have the dash?

the depth, font and spacing mirror the original that was sold earlier.
Have another close look.

I should have put them side by side - there are some differences, but the similarities in the varying depths of the 1100814 stamping are danged close. Different fonts could be because of the date gap; I'm not trying to legitimize it, but it's pretty good at first glance. Still, a lot of money for an unknown without documentation.

Steve

The 4 at minimum is a bad character on the above alternator, the 1 stamp and the 4 stamp would have to have their margin spacing milled off to ZERO, they without doubt touch if not overlap. NO GO.
