HELP!: Kick Panel Installation
« on: July 24, 2018, 05:13:51 PM »
I had to take a break...

I've been attempting to install the Right side (non-AC) kick panel and it's not going well (and that side should be the easier of the two). I'm afraid that I'm going to break the thing...
I've tried trimming the inner-most plastic flange a bit and that did seem to help, but it's still not going in.

Any tips, tricks, or thoughts as to how to get this thing in??
(or is cussing & swearing required?)

Heat.  Don't forget the dum dum or you will have water in your floorboard when it rains or when you wash it.

Do you have the heater box off yet?  It has been some time but I seem to remember that helped.

Reuse the old dum dum or get some 3M strip caulk before you try to wrestle it in place.

I've found the p/s kick panel to be the harder of the two to install. Heck, I found it hard to remove. Don't trim the panel any more than you have. Use a hair dryer to soften the plastic and work the panel in rotating it left to right as you push in.
