Camaro’s going over seas?

I have notice when I go to a car show anywhere in the USA there are less and less first gen Camaro’s ever year.

However go to one in England, Germany, or Australia and they are popping up everywhere. I am just wondering why.....the ones I have seen that are in other countries are still left hand drive with regular trim tags. Any clues on what is causing the shift?

Well nearly 700,000 first gen Camaros were built, so if there is genuinely a reduction in numbers showing at domestic gatherings, its more likely that people are choosing to not attend with their cars, rather than those huge numbers still surviving are decreasing significantly due to foreign exports.
That said, reasons for export include:
- Just about every Camaro component is reproduced, so full restorations are possible without having local access to parts cars.
- Cars with older restorations are now much more affordable, while remaining presentable.
- Many countries have waived previous import restrictions or excessive tariffs on imported cars over a certain age, making a classic car more affordable.
- People reaching a point of financial stability seek a 'weekend' car to enjoy or invest in.

Reason #1 - exchange rates.
But I don't think there's a huge exodus....

May have been so a few years ago, but doesn't apply here any longer; AU$1 got you about US$1.15 some years ago, now it is down to about US$0.78
Makes it much harder to restore a US classic, since shipping is usually more $ than the part itself cost.....

Check out Germany’s eBay there is more cars there than I thought there would be.

Yup, but lots of jukeboxes and cars went abroad while the exchange rate made US items cheap....

Shipping is expensive, everywhere but coming from China.

The items I had made in Taiwan/China (2004 timeframe) cost more to ship back than the cost to make...  :(

PS.  I should add.. 'ship by air'...  (small light weight components)
