Master cylinder rebuild kits
« on: February 24, 2018, 12:51:04 AM »
Original GM and current aftermarket rebuild kits don't include the secondary piston. The GM secondary piston is impossible to find. Does anyone know of any vintage aftermarket kits that do include the secondary piston? Manufacturer and part number? It's for my '68 manual drum/drum coupe. Delco Moraine. 1" bore. Thanks, Joe.

Thanks for the reply, Ed. Do the pistons have to come from a new or rebuilt 5452310 M/C such as the one I'm rebuilding, or can they come from any aftermarket replacement M/C? I ask this because the GM shop manual mentions to use only replacement pistons that are coded the same as the original in order to retain the correct displacement capabilities.

I've never had any problems with aftermarket master cylinder parts in an original master cylinder.

unless your bore is perfect, in which case you should not need the piston, White Post comes with LT warranty and if you save your receipt they mean it.
