Seat Foam
« on: January 27, 2018, 03:43:33 PM »
I need to replace the seat foam on my 67 Camaro RS/SS 350 front seats. The car has the Delux Interior.
I want to know if there are any recommendations on the products available. They are available from OER, TMI and others.
Unfortunately I need to ship them to Austria/Europe so I want to buy the "right" ones as shipping is very expensive.

I hope some of you can give me some help to define the right product.

Thanks, Guenther

If you are going to install 'repro' seat covers, then I think I'd let that company (that supplies your seat covers) recommend the best seat foam / cushions for their covers...

Guenther, not sure if you were going to do the seat restoration yourself or send it out.  But I restored mine and did the below tutorial, which might help you.  The cushions I used (same as 67 deluxe) were from a Camaro catalog seller, but were made by American Cushion industries.  They were nicely made, but the factory contours were not "bold" enough, so I added more foam. TMI I think makes really large bolsters, so you definitely need to match the foam to the cover as Gary pointed out.

Many thanks for your replys! The seats will go to a professional upholstery and new seat covers will be handmade using leather as cover material. They told me that they can make it look original - lets hope they are right.
I know that these seats were never available in leather but it will feel better than the original material. Unfortunately it is a lot more expensive....

Which one would you recommend with original seat covers?  This is in my '69 with the standard interior

thanks
