'69 center console oil pressure gage
« on: August 08, 2017, 05:44:28 PM »
Just noticed my oil pressure gage started reading about 15 lbs. with the engine off. This is a fairly new gage. The one that this one replaced did the same thing. Anyone else have similar problem and is there more than one supplier?

Charles does the gauge still read a higher pressure when the engine is running? And is the oil line nylon? Sounds like there might be a kink or some other restriction in the line which is preventing the pressure at the gauge being relieved when the engine oil pressure is lost.

Engine does read about 80 lbs. while running. After shut down the gauge read about 15 lbs. Oil line is metal. The other one failed because something on the gauge broke on the back. I will have to dig it out and look.
