1968 Z/28 distributors 1111266 to 1111467

1967 Z/28’s had 1111266 distributors and apparently large batches were made as many early 68 Z/28’s have them including at least three CRG members (Randy, Paul, and myself). This is an effort to help establish how long into the 68 model year were 266’s used and when did 467’s start. According to a GM memo in Jerry’s book 266’s were to be exhausted before 467’s went into use. Did it happen? When did the 467 start to show up? Since the distributor was put in at the Flint engine plant please give the assembly date of your engine, 266 or 467 and date code of distributor. 11/21/67- Jerry –has 266 dated 7G20
??/??/67- Jim- (169Indy)has 266 dated 7G20 (CE block NCRS report car built 12/26/67)
12/21/67- Chick –has 266 dated 7A25 (NOR 01B)
12/21/67 Randy (Dutch) has 266 dated 7A25 (NOR 02C)
??/??/?? Paul (68RSZ28) has 266 dated 7A25 (LOS 02C-sent Paul PM for eng. build date)
05/23/68- Danny’s had 467 dated 8E03 (NOR 05E)

Great, but can you give when your engine was built if available. Reason being that is when distributor was put in. If not its still good information to have so thanks.

I really really wish I could. I have an original MO block with a April date , but its not original to the car.
67rs/ss350 68z/28:
Been a little busy with other things going on. Motor built If I remember correctly April 15th, but sorry didn't have original distributor in it. I had original 467 distributors with dates 8A5 8A10 and now I have 8B8 which is closer to my 04D build date. Now it looks like I guess all those dates would be OK for my car??
