Interesting 68 on ebay
« on: July 11, 2017, 10:04:51 PM »
Seen this on the yenko site. Car still has the original trunk weatherstrip. If  you look closely on the right front side you can see the orange line in it. Trunk spatter looks to be a stringy mess when it was put on . neat car

I had a 68 exactly like that one (SS/RS) back in 1970-something, except it also had power disc brakes and deluxe interior. It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! I should have never sold that car.

You know it can be tough to tell an original car from one that was nicely restored in the 80s.  Would need to see it in person. Nice car but I don't think it is completely untouched since new.

D91 outer stripe is too wide and back taping is clearly evident in trunk gutter and inner fender. Most areas appear solid.  I've had western cars that were nearly rot-free but have been repaired over the years. Even well kept vinyl top cars love to eat decklid filler panels (tulip). A very solid LOS 67 I did needed rear lower quarter patches due to the factory sealer used. They all rot contrary to popular belief.

A friend was told a similar story when he sold his car he had owned for over 40 years. The deadline for it to be in Hemmings, BY THE NEW OWNER, happened before he actually picked up the car.

It happens. Once my dad sold a car to a guy that had driven 5 hours to get the car. He sold it half way home when he stopped at a gas station to fill up. The guy was honest, told dad he was "made an offer he could not refuse".  Had another car dad sold, we swore the guy would try to flip it.  But no, he still has it now, 26 years later.
