Another repro window sticker presented as real. Looks convincing but has several clumsy errors.

Clumsy errors dually noted. Why would someone order such a highly optioned car and put a 3 speed behind a bb? I 'm not buying it.

Is there anything else known about this car? Meaning, is there any indicators as to whether it is a real BB with it's original Muncie 3 speed, regardless of the fake doc? I don't see the disc brake emblem on the pedal.

Doesn't make much sense today but it probably happened once or twice. And, do you mean "leave the 3 speed behind it"? Because it came that way unless you upgraded. :)

The repro w/s means the entire car could be fake.

The shifter threw me initially, but I guess 3 speeds had a Muncie shifter in 69. I was thinking Hurst.

To clarify: If a car was a plain jane, no frills type car, I could see it having a 3 speed. And even a BB SS car, if that were the only options it had or it had a very short option list. That is the way I have seen them, both Chevelle and Camaro. But I have never heard or seen a car that had several luxury, decked out type options and, yet, left a 3 speed. I realize it is possible, but I cannot fathom a car ordered that way back then? If you had the money for a rear defrost, rosewood, deluxe interior, remote mirror and on and on, you had 4 speed money, IMO.  Brake pedal is dead giveaway. Even if it was the real deal, I would pass just on that brake pedal. If they can't get that right, then what else is wrong?

Having grown up back in the day, there was another good reason to get a 3-speed in a HP car-insurance. I recall the question-"Does the car have a 4-speed transmission" on the application. For a younger driver, a 4-speed in a HP car meant at least a surcharge. Some companies wouldn't take you.

Insurance killed muscle cars starting around 1970. They became difficult to sell, dealers wouldn't trade them in. A bud paid $2000 for a completely original Yenko Camaro in 1972. Took about 3 months to tire of the insurance and 5 mpg; had a very hard time getting rid of it.

I sent the seller a message about the window sticker. A 3 speed behind an L34 is very unlikely, but possible.

 Wasn't there a 3-speed HD T-16 option available with 396? It was in 67.

I believe the HD 3-speed GM used 67-68 was made by Ford.

For '69 Muncie supplied the HD 3-speed, standard equipment on Camaro SS. It was only optional with the LM1 350, dropped when the LM1 was discontinued December '68. It was supplied with a Muncie shifter. The standard 3-speed was a Saginaw, column shift unless D55 or M11 was ordered.

I thought it was a Borg Warner T16. Here is one at an awesome price.  :o

The 3 speed in my SS is still the thing that throws everyone when they realize its there. 99% of the time I have to tell someone its NOT a 4 speed.

In 1967 for the 396 325 HP motor there were 63 HD 3-spds produced.
