215 70 15 Black Wall Radial Tires
« on: January 23, 2017, 01:35:16 AM »
Want to purchase a set of tires for my daily driver 68 convertible. Have a set of 15x6 rims. Not a big fan of the current white letter tires. Also don't want to turn white letters in. Anyone have some good experiences on current 215 70 15 radials you can purchase at your local tire store or online. I'm thinking Michelin,Goodyear,Bridgestone,BF Goodrich, etc. Thanks,Jim.

I think the Michelin Defender is available in that size with no white letter or stripe. I like whitewalls so I run Michelin Symmetry which I love but are no longer available. I got a cheap Firestone whitewall for a spare. I will look at Michelin first when mine wear out, FWIW. I also have 15x6 with 215 70 15 on my 68.

If you are looking for something different, look at the Goodyear Steelgard or Polysteel Radial.  Size is GR70-15 which is equal to a 225/70/15.  Go to www.kelseytire.com  to see that they look like as a vintage RWL look.

This company isn't in the ones you named, my GTX has a set of Futuras on it that were on it when I bought it. Surprisingly, they will hook up on that car. Blackwall also.
