Paint another deck lid to match, or a flat hood for that matter. a buddy and four bolts can change the look of your car in minutes.

I'm officially looking for an original 69 trunk lid without spoiler holes in the Knoxville area. I like that idea, and now is the time to get it painted with the car.

Good luck, I tried to find one for Bentley. I would think at this point in time 85% of original 69 decklids have a spoiler now. You have to find a clean straight one and weld up the holes.

Deck Lid? They are out there. Most will need you to dig deep and pony up a kings ransom. There is an inverse proportion of cost vs. time I have found. If you have time, one may come along for the "right" price. Andy, sounds like you don't have that time luxury and will most probably have to pay. Good luck. When I was looking I was quoted prices of $700-$1500. I ended up driving 3 hours each way, but Got a cherry, virgin lid cheap!
Knowing you need one now, I'll start looking to help you.

And Austin, 85% of original deck lids are gone through attrition. Then, 14.9% have spoilers. Leaving .1% usable non spoiler lids*. *=SWAG

Wow!! 7 to 15 hundred, NFW. I have seen many in the Los Angeles area swap meets 1 to 2 hundred for  a good one, much less for a drilled or bent edges one.
Do people actually pay that? I know some people will ask that but I figured they just want something to take with them when they go.

My bodyshop guy said he would have a difficult time welding up the spoiler holes properly. He didn't say he couldn't do it, but what I "heard" was to get a decklid that didn't have holes.

I'll check around local, and if I don't find something reasonable then I'll just wait and keep searching. I'm not paying that much just to have a spoiler-less option, I agree that's too nuts even for me. I'll keep an ear open. The car has had a spoiler on it 99% of its life, the original owners remember the spoiler, so I can be patient.

Yes I am still in SoCal. Been to it a couple of times. in the last couple of years. I am new to SoCal, so maybe it was a great meet back in the day. The size is good, but I wasn't impressed with the selection of parts or the prices. If it was on par with Portland Oregon's meet at the track/fairgrounds, or even Turlock I might make more of effort to go. God knows I still need parts. My 55 isn't going to build itself... ;D

I agree, last time I was there WAS back in the day. But it is fairly close to you, that's why I was wondering. Have you tried the Long Beach swap meet? Smaller, but I find a lot of good parts there.
I love the guys doing "restorations" with "all new parts" dumping original parts for everything that is reproduced.  I have heard the same venders will ask more for the same parts at Pomona
because they can. Are you aware of the Big 3 swap meet in San Diego once a year?  large and diverse.
