That's the correct Holley for a '68 Z28! The date code is 841 and translates to 1st week of April, 1968. 8)

Chris - most of your earlier pics are too small to see details.  Images just need to be less than 200kb. Most recent ones are good!

Chris, most of the early pics you posted are small.  A larger one of the firewall would be good.

Carb may be a bit early, let me do some checking.  It's within reason though.

Carb - first week of April. Car - second week of July.

No, not too early at all. Holley carbs were built in batches so it's not unusual to find one on the car built a few months before the car was assembled. For example, my 05D Los Angeles L89 has the original carb and it's dated 833 (third week of March, 1968). That's two months prior. More "normal" for LA cars than Norwood, but still within the norm.

Correct? so are you considering building it as a Z???

 ;D

(just giving you a hard time Chris) Sounds like the car is turning into a mixed blessing.

Enjoy your journey with that car. Sometimes while learning about the history of the car and restoring it, we learn a little more about ourselves.

Send me a PM, or better yet an email. If I have an extra, you can have it.  But I need to look what I have first.

If you want "correct", make sure you get one with the "bent" nipple (see below).

this green sun tach was one of the boxes of parts, I know its not a factory piece. I have never seen green on a sun tach? all mine growing up were blue. I dont know what this box is?   the distributor has been rebuilt locally the technician says its spot on and seems correct to him.

Chris, the box is what makes the tach work. Could be bought for 4,6,or 8 cylinder, 6 or 12 volt.

Green Sun Tach's are from the late 50's to late 60's, possibly the early 70's but I'm not sure.

The distributor (1111467) with a date code of 8F4 (June 4th, 1968) is correct for a 1968 Camaro Z28.
