Attaching Vinyl Top
« on: August 27, 2016, 05:43:17 PM »
I'm having trouble locating the metal pegs/studs, whatever they're called, to attach the trim piece/keeper for my vinyl top. I am missing about half of them and can't seem to find anyone that has any. Thanks!

Eastwood (among others) sells the stud guns and trim rivets for attaching trim like the factory did with a welded stud. Used the same for window trim clips -

You can buy the rivets as replacements from them, and/or buy the whole system. Comparatively easy to handle - see the website link below that shows the stud detail (with the approximate clip in the pic).

If your car is already painted , you should be able to get ones that screw in just drill a small hole & screw them in ... Most body shop supply places have them or can get them ...

Excellent, that gives me somewhere to start.

Thanks to both of you!

Here's a previous thread by HawkX66 (Dave) another member.  Discussing the stud placements as well as a stud gun tip (home made).

http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=13894.msg120737#msg120737

Also just for future reference, try using the search window at the bottom right of CRG's home page (showing the 3 Camaro's) as an overall search.  Or in the forum section each "Group Discussion Topic" will also have a search window at the top right.

Ex..discussion forum "Originality", type Vinyl top rivet

Hope this helps
