L30/M20
« on: January 03, 2007, 01:38:59 PM »
Hello, I just purchased an L30/M20 67 Camaro and was wondering what additional resources or information was available for these cars. Rich's article was great, and as I continue to decode the car it looks like matching numbers engine, trans, rear. The car is real rough and rusty but has all the parts and the original paint! I just need to find an intake and possibly heads...

Not sure what else you are looking for.  Not sure what else Rich could have put in his article.

I agree Rich's article is great, I just wanted to know if anyone had personal experience with these cars or currently owns one. Any ideas on how to tell what wheels came on the car?

Thanks - I have enjoyed reading all the posts for so long - now I finally have a camaro in the garage!

Yes, others have these cars.  Rich has a very nice restored 68 L30/M20 coupe.  Maybe some of the other will speed up and get in contact with you.

I've got one - a 68 convertible that my father ordered/purchased brand new.  I'm still working on the restoration, but here is a picture of it on the day it was delivered:

...I owned an unrestored L30/M20 RS briefly, ...but have since sold it (CRG has all the info on it).
Here's a link to some photos I took of the car  http://rides.webshots.com/album/254439242GomVOm

Interestingly enough, ...the guy who purchased it from me (from Missouri) had it up on Ebay (advertised as an RS/SS): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=002&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=120067117799&rd=1,1
...it went over what I sold it to him for, but didn't meet his reserve.

...What I couldn't quite figure is WHY he painted the trim tag??

Here's a pic when I had the car (nothing touched):

...and this is from the Ebay auction for the same car:

...I will refrain from jumping to conclusions, ...but it does make one wonder...???

Thanks for the info, I do wonder why the tag was painted? I will get some pictures of mine up soon but they will not be pretty!

I picked my "68" up about 7 years ago. First 4 years was used as a driver/showcar, the last 3 years I've been doing a total restoration on it. I never heard of an "L30/M20" until I read Rich's excellent article about 3 years ago. My car came with power disc brakes and luckily it still has all 5 original disc brake rally wheels, RonM.

Same here.  At the time, I was putting a lot of time & effort (and a little $) into my restoration.  Several people commented to me that it was just a "Regular" Camaro, so why bother trying to keep it original.  Rich's article was just what I needed. :)
