I bet the BG is a rebuilder's tag when the core was rodded out once.

Kurt, that BG tag might be a broken clip that the overflow hose clips into. I have a BG tag too and also a AG clip for an overflow hose.
Sorry I can't help on the original radiator. My original RH tank was replaced. I do have a correct replacement radiator with an M date.

Mine has original radiator, and I don't recall the date off hand.  Doubt I could get at it well enough to read now since it's in the car.

I would be interested in knowing if the embossed letter for the date is the same for example, a Sept 1968 radiator versus a Sept 1969 radiator.
