Where does this clip go?
« on: July 08, 2016, 04:54:24 PM »
I have a few parts left over and found these clips in a bag marked door panels. Looks like a left and right version. I even searched the hbc website and no luck. Anyone know what they are?

That looks like the clip that holds the windlace trim in place...the one end goes over the welded door seam and clamps on

Interesting it has a hole like you could put a screw in it. At least windlace I can still get to

My windlace uses the screw.

That's it. Right at the top of the door frame above the door striker.

Yup, upper windlace holder. The tab with the screw hole actually goes BEHIND the qtr window fuzzy (between fuzzy and sheet metal).  The small screw that holds the qtr fuzzy holds the windlace bracket too.

X2! The staples hold the fuzzy and so does the screw in a sense but the main goal of the screw is to hold the lace. Bill, you might not be seeing the hole due to the fuzzy covering it as Kevin mentioned it goes behind. I'd put it in if at all possible!

Commonly trashed when the windlace is ripped out by a heavy hand.  I paid quite a lot to get some serviceable used replacement windlace years ago.  Very necessary and I do not think they are reproduced properly.
