Installation Trunk Lid Emblem
« on: June 04, 2016, 06:31:36 PM »
Hi Guys

I want to install a CAMARO BY CHEVROLET emblem on my trunk lid for my 1969 SS. The trunk is not the original and I don't know where to do my holes.

My car has no rear spoiler.

Does someone have the exact location where to put this emblem on my rear lid?

Thanks

Jack

I think there is a thread on here from somebody else with the same dilemma. Also you can look at the Camaro assembly manual, and it is probably measured out in there.

I had tried to find a thread but had no luck. If you do have pictures and measurements that will be so great.

Thanks a lot Bullitt65

Here is a link for the downloadable AIM:
http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=9433.0
If it is still busy, try this:
http://www.cardiagn.com/1969-chevrolet-camaro-factory-assembly-instruction-manual-pdf/

You just have to scroll through it, and find the page for rear emblem placement.

Hello Jack,  I'm out of house this moment.  If nobody post up, I'll attach pics with dims from my lid in a couple hours.  It's original no spoiler  (was added afterwards).

Thanks Darrell.
Jack you may want to compare what the AIM shows compared to Darrells car, just for a frame of reference for the future.

Yes X2 with what Austin is implying.  You never know..lol.  My Z was a spoiler delete 03B build.  The spoiler was added afterwards  (by someone who thought no spoilers were uncool) :'(

I know I once searched just in general and most talked about emblem placement after adding the now uncool spoiler..he he he !  :P gotta poke at you spoiler guys..lol

Well by the time my Z was ordered I think the spoiler equipment was mandatory. I like the looks of my car, but the early cars with no spoilers seem more rare to find these days, because So many spoilers were added.

Jack, sorry for the delay..busy day.

The deck lid emblem was installed by Fisher Body p/n 7752901 so you won't find it in the AIM.  The front header emblem p/n 3916654 C-1 was installed by GM which is shown in the AIM.  The two emblems look very similar "BUT" they are different from one another.

The dimensions your seeing in the pics are in reference to an ORIGINAL non spoiler deck lid (spoiler was added afterwards which is why you see the two larger holes also) and using an ORIGINAL emblem p/n 7752901 on a 03B Norwood build.  If your using a reproduction emblem or the front header emblem these dims may not work for your application...."my little disclaimer"  8)

In general, Lay out these dim's.  Take the emblem your using and dab some of the wife's lipstick on the 4 prongs and place it on the lid.  If all is original as stated above then you should hit these locations dead nutz !

Good luck, keep us posted.

Darrell

Nice work Darrell. I have one of those somewhere, I think I used it to measure how big my ruffles potato chips were, I was eating one day....
Maybe I left it in the pantry with orange finger marks on it  :o

Seriously that is a good follow up Darrell. ;)

Thanks Austin,  Man I searched "around" and "around" and "around" (unless I'm blind) and surprisingly I found no dim. references to these emblem holes.

Now watch...half a dozen thread links will pop up now after I said that  ;D

Nice

Thanks Darrel, that is great work.

I actually bought NOS p/n 3916654 and was told it was the rear lid NOS emblem.

What is the difference between 3916654 and 7752901?
